- Lift the tray out and fill it with patio slabs, tiles or screed, bedded on mortar or screed so the infill sits flush with the frame.

Frequently asked questions
What size manhole cover do I need?
Measure the opening of your inspection chamber and compare it with the 400 x 400mm size above. The frame needs a solid bed of mortar all round, so check there is room for it on the chamber walls.
Can I drive over this manhole cover?
No. EN124 Class A15 covers are tested to 15kN and are intended for areas used only by pedestrians and cyclists. For driveways or any vehicle traffic, use a cover rated B125 or higher.
What can I put in a 65mm recessed tray?
The 65mm tray suits patio slabs, tiles or screed. Allow for the bedding layer under the infill so it finishes flush with the frame.
Will a stainless steel cover rust?
Grade 304 stainless steel is highly resistant to rust in normal outdoor and indoor conditions. Wipe off cement and grout residue after fitting to keep the frame clean.
